John Cena

WWE Offers Refunds to John Cena's Fans · Feb 2, 08:47 AM by The Source

Apparently the WWE had publically announced that John Cena would be making an appearance at the companies RAW/ECW event in Hammond, Indiana. Unfortunately the marketing department must not have got the news because Cena has been pulled off a number of RAW events and despite this advertised his appearance..

To make a long story short the company is now offering refunds to fans who expected him to be their only to be told he would not be making an appearance..

Kudos to the WWE for doing the right thing but please get it right next time!

John Cena Compared to New England Patriots · Oct 6, 06:38 AM by The Source

The Bleacher Report published an article over the weekend comparing WWE stars to NFL teams.

New England Patriots & John Cena: Both Either hated or loved there does not seem to be a medium with their fan base. John Cena and the Patriots (when healthy) always seem to be either in the big matches or the big games. Both Dominant in the 2000’s. The patriots are three time champions and John Cena has won the heavyweight title numerous times.

My take:

I’m not really sure this is a fair comparison, however it’s not really that far off either… John Cena has a large fan base but it does seem that as many people watch his matches to complain about some aspect, as watch the matches because they enjoy his style.

Cena Didn't Make it for RAW · Apr 16, 06:00 AM by The Source

As many of you no doubt noticed, John Cena was strangely absent from this past Monday Night RAW event. Unfortunately the filming of 12 Rounds prevented him from making the overseas flight.

Most RAW events are filmed in the USA with Cena working on the movie during the day and then taking a quick flight out, often arriving just in time for the event to start.

Jim Ross Comments On John Cena · Apr 10, 05:06 PM by The Source

Jim Ross just updated his site with some comments aimed squarely at Cena:

“I would be willing to wager that the mere mention of John Cena, who, as best I know, will only be on the Monday Night Raw show in London in between filming a movie in New Orleans for the WWE, will flood arenas with boos, but at the end of the day Cena will still sell more merchandise than any other WWE Superstar who is on the tour in its entirety.”

Speculation on whats to come in 2008 · Jan 1, 12:13 AM by The Source

As we say goodbye to 2007, it is time to look ahead to what 2008 will bring and for many of us Cena fans… It just can’t come quickly enough.

For the most part we should see John Cena come back within a few months, however I am hearing a number of rumors that the WWE may try and pull a “Hulk Hogan” with his character and make him more of a “rebel”... After all it’s worked with some of it’s biggest names including “Hulk Hogan” and “The Rock”.

Right now as it stands, in the time leading up to his injury we saw a general drop in his popularity with hardcore fans and the press, many people were simply tired of Cena always winning…

However Cena is still incredibly popular, espically with the younger audience and making him a secondary character wouldn’t do anything to help the WWE either…

So their really are only two possible scenario’s for 2008:

1. We see the WWE change up the story line’s so John Cena isn’t always going to win at every PPV event. Perhaps a long feud that involves a lot of give and take with the title matches.

2. We find that John Cena’s injuries have “changed” him somehow leaving him less of a “good” guy and either have him start ripping the fans for booing him or some other “bad guy” behavior even if it’s just focused towards the WWE.

This is all just speculation but I think many of us can agree right now the PPV events leave a lot to be desired…

Either way HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!!
